Except as provided in § 5-202 of this article, the Uniform Construction Code, 34 Pa.Code, Chapters 401-405, as amended from time to time, is hereby adopted in its entirety and made a part hereof by reference. This article and the provisions hereof shall form and be known as the official Construction Code of Thornbury Township and may be referred to as the Thornbury Township Construction Code.

The building code sections set forth in Exhibits A to K attached hereto and made a part hereof, adopted and established by Thornbury Township prior to July 1, 1999, and in effect on the date of adoption of this article, shall replace and supersede their counter-part provisions of the Uniform Construction Code, and shall remain in full force so long as each equals or exceeds the requirements of the Uniform Construction Code.

1. 
All building code sections or portions thereof not expressly excepted and preserved in § 5-202 of this article, shall be deemed amended to conform with tie comparable provisions of the Uniform Construction Code.
A. 
All building code ordinances or portions of ordinances which are in effect as of the effective date of this article and whose requirements are less that the minimum requirements of the Code are hereby amended to conform with the comparable provisions of the Code.
B. 
All relevant ordinances, regulations and policies of this Municipality not governed by the Code shall remain in full force and effect.

1. 
Enforcement. Enforcement of the Construction Code of Thornbury Township, as adopted hereunder, shall be the responsibility of the Thornbury Township Code Enforcement Department and Code Enforcement Officer, and such other persons as may be established by the Board of Supervisors from time to time, by resolution.
2. 
Board of Appeals. A Board of Appeals shall be established by resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Thornbury in conformity with the requirements of the relevant provisions of the Code, as amended from time to time, and for the purpose set forth therein.
3. 
Fees. Fees assessable by the Township of Thornbury for the administration and enforcement of this article and the Uniform Construction Code shall be established by the Board of Supervisors from time to time, by resolution.

1. 
Violations of this article shall constitute a summary offense and may result, but are not limited, to any of the following or any combination thereof:
A. 
Revocation of any issued permit, or the denial of any pending permit application.
B. 
Issuance of a stop work order.
C. 
In addition, the Board of Supervisors may prescribe a fine not to exceed $1,000 per violation and may also prescribe imprisonment to the extent allowed by law for the punishment of summary offenses.

A. 
Any ordinances or parts of ordinances, regulations, rules, policies or resolutions or the Township of Thornbury not expressly governed by the Uniform Construction Code, or inconsistent therewith, shall remain in full force and effect and be unaffected by this article.
B. 
All ordinances or parts of ordinances, regulations, rules policies or resolutions inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the inconsistency.
