There are certain oversized parking spaces in the Jersey Shore Borough-owned
parking lots in the 100 block of South Main Street that are designated
for only parking of vehicle-and-trailer combinations. All other vehicles
are prohibited from using these parking spaces.
B.Â
These parking spaces are oversized and will be marked accordingly
with signage reflecting the parking restrictions and warnings that
violators will be fined.
Any person violating any section of this article is guilty of
a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to a fine
of no more than $50 per violation.

The purpose of this article is to establish rules, regulations
and parking in the Jersey Shore Boat Launch Area.
This article is authorized pursuant to the Pennsylvania Borough
Code.[1]

A.Â
There will be one handicapped parking space in the boat launch area.
Only vehicles that have handicapped parking can park in this area.
This single parking space specifically will be located in the area
beyond the ramp that leads from Front Street to the Susquehanna River.
There will be no other parking in this area.
B.Â
Any person violating parking restrictions in this section shall be
guilty of a summary offense and, upon conviction of the same, shall
be sentenced to a fine of no more than $300.
A.Â
SKATEBOARD
Definition. As used in this section, the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated:
A vehicle propelled by human power and gravity consisting
of material or portion of material formed in firm sheet with wheels
attached to the underside.
B.Â
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in skateboarding or
ride upon, or propel a skateboard, in the Jersey Shore Boat Launch
Area; this includes the ramp, the overlook, and parking areas.
C.Â
Any person violating skateboarding restrictions in this section shall
be guilty of a summary offense and, upon conviction of the same, shall
be sentenced to a fine of no more than $300.
A.Â
PEDALCYCLE
Definition. As used in this section, the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated:
A vehicle propelled by human-powered pedals and this definition
includes "electric-assist pedalcycle" as defined in the Pennsylvania
Vehicle Code.[1]

B.Â
Pedalcycles, including electric-assist pedalcycles, are prohibited
in the boat launch area, which includes the ramp, the overlook, and
the area by the Susquehanna River.
C.Â
Any person violating pedalcycle restrictions in this section shall
be guilty of a summary offense and, upon conviction of the same, shall
be sentenced to a fine of no more than $300.
D.Â
There will be a designated area for parking of pedalcycles and electric-assist
pedalcycles on Front Street.
E.Â
This does not apply to handicapped wheel chairs and Jazzy-type assistive
devices, known as "electric personal assistance mobile devices."
A.Â
Motorized vehicles, motorcycles and motorized pedalcycles, as defined
by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, are prohibited on the boat launch
area and ramp but for when in the act of putting a boat in the Susquehanna
River or removing a boat from the Susquehanna River.
B.Â
Any person violating motorized vehicles, motorcycles and motorized
pedalcycle restrictions in this section shall be guilty of a summary
offense and, upon conviction of the same, shall be sentenced to a
fine of no more than $300.
A.Â
All people in the boat launch area are required to yield to any vehicle
attempting to launch or retrieve a boat from the Susquehanna River.
B.Â
Any person found not yielding to those attempting to launch or retrieve
boats as described in this section shall be guilty of a summary offense
and, upon conviction of the same, shall be sentenced to a fine of
no more than $300.
A.Â
It shall be unlawful for any person in the boat launch area to:
(1)Â
Willfully mark, deface, disfigure, injure, tamper with or displace
or remove any buildings, bridges, tables, benches, fireplaces, railings,
pavings or paving materials, water lines or other public utilities
or parts or appurtenances thereof, signs, notices or placards, whether
temporary or permanent monuments, stakes, posts or other boundary
markers or other structures or equipment, facilities or park property
or appurtenances whatsoever, either real or personal.
(2)Â
Dig or remove any soil, rock, sand, stones, trees, shrubs or plants
or other wood or materials or make any excavation by earthmoving heavy
equipment as used in the construction trade or by blasting.
(3)Â
Construct or erect any building or structure of whatever kind, whether
permanent or temporary, or run or string any public service utility
into, upon or across such lands, except on special written permit
issued hereunder.
(4)Â
Damage, cut, carve, transplant or remove any tree or plant or injure
the bark, or pick flowers or seeds of any tree or plant, dig in or
otherwise disturb grassed areas or in other way injure the natural
beauty or usefulness of the area.
(5)Â
Tie or hitch an animal to any tree or plant.
(6)Â
Hunt, molest, kill, wound, trap, abuse, shoot, pursue or throw missiles
at, remove or have in his possession any animal, reptile or bird found
within a Township park; or disturb its habitat within a Township park;
or knowingly buy, receive, have in his possession, sell or give away
such animal, reptile, bird or eggs so taken, except as may be specifically
provided for and being in accordance with state/federal fish and game
laws.
(7)Â
Throw, discharge or otherwise place or cause to be placed in the
waters of any fountain, pond, lake, stream or other body of water
in any park or any tributary stream, storm sewer or drain flowing
into such water any substance, matter or thing, liquid or solid, which
will or may result in pollution of said waters.
(8)Â
Have brought in or dump in, deposit or leave any bottles, broken
glass, ashes, paper, boxes, cans, dirt, rubbish, waste, garbage or
refuse or other trash. No such refuse or trash shall be placed in
any waters in any park, or left anywhere on the grounds thereof, but
shall be placed in the proper receptacles where these are provided;
where receptacles are not provided, all such rubbish or waste shall
be carried away from the park by the person responsible for its presence
and property.
(9)Â
Navigate, direct or handle any boat in such a manner as to unjustifiably
or unnecessarily annoy or frighten or endanger the occupant of any
other boat.
(10)Â
Set up tents, shacks or any other temporary shelter for the
purpose of overnight camping.
B.Â
While in a park or recreation area, all persons shall conduct themselves
in a proper and orderly manner, and, in particular, no person shall:
(1)Â
Bring alcohol beverages or drink the same at any time nor shall any
person be under the influence of alcohol.
(2)Â
Build or attempt to build a fire, except in such areas and under
such regulations as may be designated by the Department of Parks and
Recreation. No person shall drop, throw or otherwise scatter lighted
matches, burning cigarettes or cigars, tobacco paper or other flammable
material within any park or on any highways, roads or street abutting
or contiguous thereto.
(3)Â
Disturb or interfere unreasonably with any person or party occupying
any area or participating in any activity under the authority of the
Borough of Jersey Shore.
C.Â
Any person found violating any of the additional rules, as outlined
in this section shall be guilty of a summary offense and, upon conviction
of the same, shall be sentenced to a fine of no more than $300.
