As authorized by and in accordance with Chapter 335 of this Title, when signs are erected giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at every intersection or other location, designated herein, before proceeding.

The City Traffic Engineer is directed to cause to be erected a stop sign bearing the words “School Stop” or the word “Stop” at those intersections and crosswalks designated as school stops and to cause to be erected a stop sign bearing the words “Playground Stop” or the word “Stop” at those intersections and crosswalks designated as playground stops.

School stops shall be operative between the hours of 7:45 A.M. and 9:00 A.M., 11:30 A.M. and 1:00 P.M., and 3:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M. every day except Saturdays and Sundays and school holidays during the school year.

Playground stops shall be operative between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. every day except Sundays from June 1 to September 5 of each year.

Except when directed to proceed by a Police Officer or crossing watchman, every driver of a vehicle approaching a school stop sign or a playground stop sign during the hours provided in this Schedule shall stop as required, and after having stopped shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians within or entering the street.
