"The Board of Supervisors finds that there is a greater likelihood
of serious bodily injury, loss of life and loss of property in multiple-family
residential buildings having two or more dwelling units which are
not equipped with residential water sprinkler fire-suppression systems.
The Board of Supervisors further finds that it is in the best interests
and general welfare of the citizens of the Township to require all
newly constructed multiple-family residential buildings having two
or more dwelling units which are located within the Township to be
equipped with a residential water sprinkler fire-suppression system.

"On each additional story of the dwelling, including basements
but not including crawl spaces and uninhabitable attics. In dwellings
or dwelling units with split levels and without an intervening door
between the adjacent levels, a smoke alarm installed on the upper
level shall suffice for the adjacent lower level, provided that the
lower level is less than one full story below the upper level."
