This article shall be known as "Modifying the Hearing Date of
the Board of Assessment Review (BAR) of the Town of Kinderhook."
This article is enacted pursuant to New York Municipal Home
Rule Law § 10 and New York State Real Property Tax Law § 512,
which vest the Town of Kinderhook with authority to set the annual
date(s) upon which hearings of the Board of Assessment Review (BAR)
shall be conducted within said town.
Be it hereby enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Kinderhook
that the annual meeting date of the Town of Kinderhook Board of Assessment
Review (BAR) to hear complaints from taxpayers with regard to real
property tax assessments shall be held on the first Wednesday following
the fourth Tuesday of May and for so many days thereafter as the Board
of Assessment Review deems necessary.
Any other prior local law currently in existence that is inconsistent
with the terms of this article is hereby repealed.
This article shall take effect immediately in accordance with
the requirements of the New York State Municipal Home Rule Law.
