The position of Clean Community Coordinator is hereby created and established within Harmony Township.
The Clean Community Coordinator shall perform such duties, with the advice and approval of the Township Committee, as are necessary to provide a clean, litter-free environment and a litter reduction program for the benefit of the residents of the Township of Harmony, which shall include the implementation of such programs as are reasonably required, either by way of cleanup, enforcement or public information and education relative to the cleanup of public lands and grounds and the need to educate residents of the Township concerning the need to control litter. The Clean Community Coordinator shall be required to prepare a periodic report to the Township Committee regarding the formulation and procedures employed in implementing all anti-littering programs or measures to control illegal dumping within the Township of Harmony. The Clean Community Coordinator shall also be required to attend two county-sponsored Clean Community Coordinator programs during each grant year.
The term of the Clean Community Coordinator shall be for a period of one year, to commence on January 1 of the year in which the appointment is made, and shall be subject to appointment annually by the Township Committee on the corresponding day of each year thereafter.
The Clean Community Coordinator shall receive such compensation as shall be provided under an ordinance fixing the salaries of several officers and officials of the Township of Harmony, County of Warren and State of New Jersey, as the same shall be amended or supplemented from time to time.
This article shall become effective immediately upon final passage and publication as required by law.
