Every member of the Lower Moreland Township police force shall be and is hereby required to retire from said police force upon attaining age 65, and his employment with said police force shall thereupon terminate, effective as of the last day of the calendar month in which said age 65 is reached.
Said retirement shall be deemed automatic without the need for any notice being given to said policeman upon attaining age 65.
The provisions of this article shall and do apply to every full-time salaried member of the Lower Moreland Township police force, including patrolmen, officers at every rank, detectives and Chief.
Section 62-5 of this article shall in no way affect any existing right of any member of the Lower Moreland Township police force to retire at an age less than 65 years.
Nothing provided in this article shall prejudice any pension benefit which shall have vested in any member of the Lower Moreland Township police force as of the date this article becomes effective.
Such amendment as may be necessary shall be made to the pension agreement presently in effect with respect to members of the Lower Moreland Township police force.
