Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, in the event of any conflict between provisions of this article and any other articles of the Village Code, the provisions contained in this Article XII shall govern.
A. 
No connection shall be made to the South West Sewer District (SWSD) before presentation to the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst of a valid Suffolk County sewer connection permit.
B. 
No other permits for plumbing or street opening shall be required, and all fees incidental thereto are hereby waived.
A. 
All exterior (meaning plumbing work from the sewer line to within five feet of a structure) plumbing work incidental to connection to the SWSD shall be subject to inspection by Suffolk County. Said exterior plumbing work shall be performed by such persons and in such a manner as are approved by the County of Suffolk.
B. 
Interior plumbing.

(1) 
All interior (meaning plumbing work within the structure itself) plumbing work incidental to connection to the SWSD must be performed by a plumber duly licensed by the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst.
(2) 
All interior plumbing work must be inspected by a plumbing inspector of the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst. The property owner and/or contractor shall both be responsible for advising the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst within 30 days of the completion of interior work. No transfer of the premises may occur after completion of the interior work prior to the aforementioned inspection by the Village.

Excavations or openings of the streets and/or sidewalk areas incidental to connections to the SWSD shall be made in accordance with such regulations, if any, as shall be promulgated by the Village Highway Department and further shall be in compliance with Chapter 158 and such other provisions as may be contained in the Village Code.

B. 
The property owner to which a SWSD connection is being made shall be responsible for all sidewalks and/or street excavations or openings, including unpaved sidewalk areas, and shall be responsible for maintaining the excavation site in a safe fashion and restoring the site to a safe condition substantially similar to the condition of the sidewalk area and/or road prior to excavation within 30 days of completion. Said time period for restoration may be extended or waived by the Village Board.
C. 
Prior to any openings of a street, not to include sidewalks, the Village must be given at least 48 hours' notice. The property owner of the premises being improved by the sewer connection to the SWSD and any contractors or persons or corporation involved in the actual opening of a sidewalk or street shall be solely responsible for the safe conduct of safe excavation and shall indemnify and hold harmless the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst, its agencies, agents and/or employees from any claims arising from the excavation.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, the Village Plumbing Board of Examiners may issue restricted plumbing licenses to persons whose sole plumbing work in the Village consists of connections to the South West Sewer District. Such licenses shall be clearly marked as restricted, and the Plumbers' Board shall clearly set forth the type(s) of work permitted under such licenses. The procedures, duration, fees and restrictions on such restricted licenses shall be the same as for any other Village plumbing license.[1]
