A. 
Whoever violates any provisions of this chapter governing motor vehicles and traffic or parking within the Borough of Middletown shall, where another penalty is not provided by the Vehicle Code,[1] upon conviction thereof before the District Justice, be sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding $150 and costs and, in default of payment thereof, to be imprisoned in the Dauphin County Prison for a period not exceeding 10 days.

B. 
Notice of violation may be left on the windshield of the vehicle by cardboard tag, and the ticketing fines, payable at the local police office in the Middletown Borough Hall, shall be $30 if paid within 48 hours after tagging or $60 if paid before a summons is issued and more than 48 hours after tagging. After a summons is issued, the initial provisions of this section on penalties shall govern.
A. 
All previous ordinances of the Borough of Middletown pertaining to the regulation of traffic and parking are hereby repealed.
B. 
The repeal of ordinances provided for in Subsection A above shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or liability incurred in violation of any ordinance or regulation in force immediately prior to the taking effect of this chapter.
C. 
The provisions of this chapter, insofar as they are the same as those of ordinances and regulations in force immediately prior to the enactment of this chapter, are intended as a continuation of such ordinances and regulations and not as new enactments.
