The term of office of elective Superintendent of Highways of the Town
of Van Buren shall be four years. Such four-year term shall commence on the
first day of January following the first biennial town election after the
effective date of this chapter.
At the biennial town election next following the effective date of this
chapter, and every four years thereafter, the Superintendent of Highways shall
be elected for a term of four years.
This chapter shall supersede in its application to the Town of Van Buren
§ 24 of the Town Law with respect to the term of office of the elective
Superintendent of Highways.
This chapter shall be submitted for approval to the electors of the
Town of Van Buren at the next election to be held on November 7, 2000.
