The R-2 Use District is intended to provide for apartment houses and other multiple-family uses, and associated uses, including, where compatible, light, neighborhood, commercial uses integrated into multifamily buildings, which do not cause noise or congestion detrimental to the neighborhood, as well as desirable social uses.
No building, structure or lands within the Multifamily Residential (R-2) Use District shall be constructed, erected or used for other than one of the following specified purposes:
A. 
Two-family dwellings.
B. 
Multifamily dwellings.
C. 
Schools or educational institutions.
D. 
Public institutional and civic uses.
E. 
Churches, libraries, memorial buildings.
F. 
Community or public recreational centers.
G. 
Parks, playgrounds, golf courses.
H. 
Day-care centers, nurseries.
I. 
Nursing homes or adult-care facilities.
J. 
Hospital, medical care facility.
K. 
Any permitted uses and structures allowed in the R-1 District.

The following uses may be permitted upon obtaining a special use permit:
A. 
Bed-and-breakfasts.
B. 
Boardinghouses.
C. 
Medical offices.

D. 
Mixed-use retail and residential with retail limited to first floor, limited to uses allowed in B-1 Districts, and limited to 60% of the gross floor area per structure.

E. 
Commercial recreation, limited to pools, ice rinks, and golf courses.
F. 
Fire halls, rescue squad and public safety buildings.
G. 
Funeral homes.
H. 
Professional offices.

Insurance and real estate offices.

Veterinary offices and clinics.

Any of the following uses may be allowed as accessory and clearly subordinate to the dwelling or principal structure:
A. 
Detached parking structures.
B. 
Utility structures, substations, towers and facilities.
C. 
Fences (maximum six feet in height; barbed wire prohibited).
D. 
Private recreation facilities.

A.
