As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PERSON
Includes one or more persons of either sex, natural persons, corporations, partnerships, associations, joint-stock companies, societies and all other entities of any kind capable of being sued.
Each building within the Incorporated Village of New Hyde Park is to bear a house number, which shall be the number allotted it on a certain map filed for that purpose in the office of the Village Clerk, and such number shall be affixed to the house at or near the entrance of same and in such a manner and of such size that it will be legible from the street.

A violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is hereby declared to be unlawful and a petty offense. Each such offense is hereby designated an infraction as defined in Article IIA of Chapter 1 of the Village Code, and every such infraction shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of Subsection A of § 1-27 of that article.
