As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PERSON
Includes one or more persons of either sex, natural persons, corporations, partnerships, associations, joint-stock companies, societies and all other entities of any kind capable of being sued.

No person shall construct or maintain any driveway, passageway or walk of concrete, brick, stone or other material from or to any public street or highway within the Village so as to block or in any way obstruct the gutter of a street or highway, or so that any part of such driveway, passageway or walk or part thereof shall extend nearer to the center line of a street or highway than the line of the curb thereof. Such driveway, passageway or walk shall be laid according to the official grade as fixed by the Village Engineer and approved by the Board of Trustees. With respect to property which is zoned or used for one-family or two-family residential purposes, no driveway or continuously or intermittently paved area for the parking or storage of motor vehicles may be wider than 35% of the width of the lot upon which it is located and in no event may it be wider than 20 feet. Except for a paved walkway from the sidewalk to the residence, no other paving shall be permissible in the front yard of such residential property. Any parked or stored vehicle on the paved or partially paved driveway or parking area permissible under this Code may not encroach more than three feet into the front of the house.

No person shall construct or maintain any driveway from or to any public street or highway within the Village unless the same shall have a cement or concrete apron from the sidewalk area to the gutter and should in no way interfere with the free and proper use of such gutter. With respect to property which is zoned or used for one-family or two-family purposes, no apron or curb cut shall be wider than 16 feet.
No driveway shall be constructed or installed, any part of which leads over or on to the sidewalk area, unless such sidewalk area shall have been laid or constructed with cement or concrete subject to the ordinance rules and regulations of this Village.

A violation of any of the provisions of this chapter is hereby declared to be unlawful and a petty offense. Each such offense is hereby designated a violation as defined in Article IIA of Chapter 1 of the Village Code, and every such violation shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of Subsections B and F of § 1-27 of that article.
