The Inspector of Animals appointed and qualified under the provisions of MGL c. 129, § 15, shall perform the duties prescribed in Chapter 129 and shall perform such additional duties not inconsistent therewith as may be determined and prescribed by the Mayor and Board of Health. The Inspector of Animals shall receive such compensation not inconsistent with law as the Mayor and City Council may determine.
The Inspector of Animals shall immediately notify the Board of Health or its agent of the existence of any contagious or infectious disease among any domestic animals in the City.

The Inspector of Animals shall keep a record of all official acts and inspections, which record shall be at all times subject to inspection.
