A.
Upon enactment of this section, the Haverhill Water
Division will notify owners of property in which the water service
is fed through another house that they will be required to install
a new water service to their house at the time of a real estate transfer.
All costs related to this new water service and the discontinuance
of the old water service, as deemed necessary by the Haverhill Water
Division, will be the responsibility of the owner of the property.
The Water Division will waive any related fees regarding the new service.
B.
Water service definitions will consist of the following:
(1)
Water main: corporation - flared or compression (New
England iron pipe thread).
(2)
Copper pipe: Type K coiled (from corporation to T-head).
(3)
T-head: open right with stop and waste, flared or
compression (New England iron pipe thread).
(4)
Curb box and rod: Telescopic curb box and cover with
thirty-inch rod (no bradford boxes).
(5)
Pipe: Type K coiled (from T-head into front of structure
with minimum amount of pipe with no fittings prior to valve and not
to run under floor).
(6)
Valve: flared one-piece lever ball valve with full
port opening (New England iron pipe thread).
(7)
Meter connection and bushing: appropriate for approved
size in accordance to water meter specifications.
(8)
Water meter: in accordance to appropriate size.
(9)
Backflow device: to be determined at time of application
and accordance to degree of hazard.
(10)
Depth: five feet to six feet; clean fill over
pipe.
(11)
Installation: services to run ninety-degree
angle to structure.
