There shall be annually appointed, in accordance with the statutes of the State of New Jersey, the following: Borough Attorney, Engineer, Auditor, Prosecutor, Public Defender, Bond Attorney, Auxiliary Police, School Marshals, Special Officers (male and female), Police Physicians, Deputy Court Clerk, Recreation Director, Assessor, Construction Official, Director of Human Services, Consultant to Recycling Coordinator, Building Inspector, Fire Official, Plumbing Official and any other annual appointee who is compensated for his or her services (unless official is tenured).
Such officers shall perform the duties required by law and ordinances of the Borough of Cresskill, as well as all such duties customarily performed in connection with such offices and as assigned by the Mayor and Council.
The persons appointed to such office shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and Council and, unless sooner removed, shall hold office until their successors have been appointed and qualified.
A. 
In compensation for the services rendered by the holders of such office, they shall be paid according to the compensation provided for in the annual Salary Ordinance for the Borough of Cresskill.
B. 
Such office holders are not subject to the provisions of Chapter 49, Personnel Policies, of the Code of Cresskill.

None of the holders of said offices, the Building Inspector or the attorneys, engineers, auditors or professional advisors or consultants to any Boards or agencies of the Borough of Cresskill shall be required to be residents of the Borough of Cresskill.
