[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the Town of Poughkeepsie 6-19-2002 by L.L. No. 9-2002. Amendments noted where applicable.]
A. 
The Town Board of the Town of Poughkeepsie has appointed various advisory committees to assist the Town Board in fulfilling its legislative, executive and administrative functions which boards are listed as follows:
(1) 
Historical Conservation Committee.
(2) 
Plumbing Board.
(3) 
Conservation Advisory Commission.
(4) 
Board of Ethics.
(5) 
Records Management Advisory Board.
(6) 
Tri-Municipal Sewer Commission.
(7) 
Joint Water Board
B. 
The Committee members are appointed by the Town Board for specific terms.
C. 
The Town pursuant to law has created a Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Board and Board of Assessment Review.
D. 
Pursuant to law the Town has made appointments to these boards as required by law.
E. 
A member may be removed from said boards for cause as set forth in said law.
F. 
Each board must act by a majority as constituted.
G. 
Certain boards are having difficulty maintaining a quorum.
An individual appointed to a committee or board, as above listed, who misses 25% of the regular voting meetings or 25% of the special voting meetings or any combination thereof in a one-year period without just cause may be removed.
The provisions of this chapter are not applicable to general workshop meetings, field trips or informational sessions during which a vote will not be taken.
Said notice of removal and hearing date must be in writing, signed by the Supervisor and co-signed by the Chairman or Acting Chairman of the particular committee or board and said notice shall be forwarded by certified mail or served personally on the individual 10 days prior to the Town Board affording the opportunity of the individual to be heard.
The Town Board shall convene a meeting of the Board to afford the individual member an opportunity to be heard and thereafter shall issue a written decision which may include removal, suspension or continuation on said committee or board under certain terms and conditions.
