A.
Except as provided in Subsections B and C below, every person convicted of an infraction for a violation of any provision of this chapter which is not a violation of any provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York shall, for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction within 18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $200 or by imprisonment for not more than 45 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment; and upon a third or subsequent conviction within 18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

B.
Violations of Town Code § 110-6C (fire hydrant) and § 110-6E (fire lane) shall be punished by a fine of $125; violations of § 195-17 (no parking any time), § 195-19 (no standing), § 195-20 (restricted parking), § 195-20.1 (temporary parking prohibited), and § 195-23 (time limit) shall be punished by a fine of $35; violations of § 195-24 (parking improperly) and § 195-27 (bus zone) shall be punished by a fine of $50; violations of § 195-30A (snow ordinance) shall be punished by a fine of $100; and violations of § 195-28 (handicapped parking) shall be punished by a fine of $150.
C.
Violations of Town Code §§ 195-31.1A (double parked) and 195-31.1B (parked on sidewalk) shall be punished by a fine of $40; violations of Town Code §§ 195-31.1C (blocked intersection), (blocked cross walk) and 195-31.2 (blocked driveway) shall be punished by a fine of $50. Violations of Town Code §§ 195-31.3 (uninspected motor vehicle) and 195-31.4 (unregistered motor vehicle) shall be punished by a fine of $50 if the vehicle is uninspected or unregistered for less than 60 days, and by a fine of $75 if uninspected or unregistered for 60 or more days.

Upon the failure of a person or owner of a motor vehicle to appear on or before the return period or any subsequent adjourned date, or answer a summons or appearance ticket, or to timely pay the fine imposed, for the traffic infractions designated in § 195-35B and C, a late penalty equal to the amount of the original fine shall be added to the fine, and if the failure continues for 60 days, an additional late penalty equal to the amount of the original fine shall be added to the fine, and if the failure continues for 90 days, a second additional late penalty of $30 shall be added to the fine, all of which late penalties and additional late penalties are exclusive of the original fine and any New York State surcharge.
