The Superintendent of the Department of Public Works
is hereby authorized to place and maintain or cause to be placed and maintained
all official traffic signs, signals and markings. All official traffic signs,
signals and markings shall conform to the standards as prescribed by the State
Department of Public Works.
B.
Regulations relating to no-parking zones shall be effective
only during such times as a sufficient number of official no-parking signs
are erected and maintained designating the no-parking zone, provided that
such signs are visible to approaching operators.
No person shall place, maintain or display or cause to be placed, maintained
or displayed any unofficial sign, signal or marking which purports to be,
resembles or is an imitation of an official traffic sign, signal or marking
which attempts to direct the movement of traffic or which hides from view
any official sign, signal or marking. The Chief of Police is hereby empowered
to remove without notice any unofficial sign, signal and marking which violates
this section.
