Whenever in any public assemblage the National Anthem is played
upon any instrument or instruments or sung as a solo or otherwise,
it shall be played or sung with the dignity and respect to which it
is entitled in the minds of a patriotic people, and it shall not be
played or sung as a part of a medley nor interrupted by nor interspersed
with other music which may detract from its sublime character.
