This chapter shall be cited as the "Certification of the Town of Clarkstown Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board Members."
It is the intention of the Town Board to require and provide the Clarkstown Board of Appeals and Planning Board members ("members") with the knowledge of both the grants of authority under which they operate and the principles and practices of land use regulations, zoning and planning.
A.
Members are required to comply with prevailing New York State Town Law §§ 267.7-a and 271.7-a (training and attendance requirements), and any other requirements as the Town Board may adopt from time to time by resolution.
B.
Members are required to attend training and receive certification from the Rockland Municipal Planning Federation. Membership in the Federation, sponsored and funded by the Town, is granted to members upon their appointment.
Each year, prior to January 31, members must file with the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Planning Department, respectively, for the previous calendar year, a signed certification that they have complied with the provisions of § 42-3 above.
