This chapter shall be known and cited as the "Zoning Law of the Town of Moreau." The Town of Moreau is hereinafter referred to as the "Town."
Enactment of this chapter by the Town is pursuant to Article 16 of the Town Law and Articles 2 and 3 of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York.
A. 
The intent of this chapter is to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the community and protect the property values by regulating the height, number of stories and size of buildings and other structures, the percentage of lot that may be occupied, the size of the yard, courts and other open spaces, the density of population and the location and use of buildings, structures and land for trade, industry, agriculture, residence and other purposes, to the extent permissible within the proper exercise of power delegated by the Town Law.
B. 
It is the further purpose and objective of this chapter to ensure optimum overall conservation, protection, development and use of the scenic, aesthetic, wildlife, recreational, open space, historic, ecological and natural resources of the Town.
