As used in this article, the following terms,
phrases, words and their derivations shall have the following meanings:
The last Tuesday through Saturday of the month of September.
The entire public right-of-way, including the paved cartway
and sidewalk areas, of Main Street from Lake Street to Park Avenue
and State Street from Franklin Street to Locust Street.
Any individual, partnership, copartnership, firm, company,
cooperation, association, joint stock company, trust, estate, governmental
entity or any other legal entity or their legal representatives, agents
or assigns.
All animals, domesticated or other, including but not limited
to dogs, cats, snakes, birds, pigs, sheep or other livestock not directly
involved in the formal fair exhibitions, events or activities.

No person shall bring, carry, accompany, convey or
transport any prohibited animal or animals upon or over any portion
of the public right-of-way, including the paved cartway and sidewalk
areas, of a fair street during the Ephrata Fair Week commencing at
7:00 a.m. on Tuesday until 12:00 midnight Saturday.

No person shall bring, carry, accompany, convey or
transport any prohibited animal or animals upon or over any portion
of the public area known as the "Railroad Station" parking lot property
located on East Main Street during the Ephrata Fair Week commencing
at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday until 12:00 midnight Saturday.
The provisions of this article shall not apply
to animals which assist the handicapped or to animals which assist
law enforcement personnel.
Any person or persons found guilty of violating
or permitting the violation of this article shall be subject to a
fine of not more than $600 for each offense, together with the cost
of prosecution and, in default of payment thereof, shall be imprisoned
for a term not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation of this
article continues shall constitute a separate offense.
