Graffiti is undesirable and constitutes a visually discordant effect on property and neighborhoods. It shall be unlawful for any person, without the owner's authorization, to mark the walls or windows or buildings or any other structures, poles, monuments or installation by spray paint or any other medium or otherwise maliciously damage, deface or vandalize such property by so doing.
Owners of the property in the Township shall be required to remove graffiti from all buildings and structures on their property within 30 days after its appearance or within 30 days of the owner, property manager or tenant receiving notification of such graffiti, whichever shall be later. It shall be the responsibility of the Construction and Zoning Official to issue such notices.
A. 
Any person convicted of a violation of this section shall be subject to the penalties set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article I.
B. 
The Judge of the Municipal Court upon conviction of a defendant of the violation of this chapter, may require the defendant to remove the graffiti or to pay for the removal of the graffiti. The Judge of the Municipal Court in imposing sentence may take into account whether or not the defendant had complied with any order that might be entered by the Judge for the removal of the graffiti.
