Any police officer of the Borough of Baldwin having attained the age of 65 shall, on the anniversary date of his employment with the Borough which anniversary shall occur subsequent to said policeman's 65th birthday, be retired from active duty with the Borough of Baldwin and shall be ineligible to serve thereafter as a police officer on active duty with the Borough of Baldwin Police Department.
Nothing contained herein shall be construed so as to interfere, contradict, change or amend any other ordinance regarding police pension funds and minimum periods of total service therein and all minimum ages at which members of the force may be retired from active duty; provided, however, that the retirement age designated herein shall be mandatory.

This article shall become effective immediately; providing, however, that any police officers presently employed with the Borough Police Department who may have attained that age of 65 years or older prior to the adoption of this article shall be covered by the provisions of this article and may serve until the anniversary date of their employment.[1]
