[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the Town of West New York 1-17-1979 by Ord. No. 1330. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:56A-1 and the amendments and supplements thereto, the Environmental Commission of the Town of West New York, in the County of Hudson, hereinafter referred to as the "Environmental Commission," consisting of seven members be and is hereby created.
The members of the Environmental Commission shall have such qualifications as fixed by statute and shall be appointed by the Mayor for such period of time as may be set in their appointment, all as provided in N.J.S.A. 40:56A-1; and all members of the Environmental Commission shall be citizens and shall reside in the Town of West New York, County of Hudson, New Jersey.
The Environmental Commission shall have the powers and duties and be subject to the limitations as set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:56A-1 et seq. and 40:55D-27 and such other statutes as may be applicable.
