A. 
A Township Planning Commission to be composed of five members is hereby created and established in the Township of Falls, County of Bucks and State of Pennsylvania.
B. 
The Board of Supervisors may appoint by resolution at least one but no more than three residents of Falls Township to serve as alternate members of the Township Planning Commission. The term of office of an alternate member shall be four years. Alternates shall not serve as a member of the Zoning Hearing Board or as a Zoning Officer. Any alternate may participate in any proceeding or discussion of the Township Planning Commission but shall not be entitled to vote as a member of the Township Planning Commission nor be compensated (if applicable) unless designated as a voting alternate member by the Chair of the Planning Commission in order to reach a quorum, Any alternate member of the Planning Commission shall continue to serve on the Planning Commission in all proceedings involving the matter or case for which the alternate was initially appointed until the Planning Commission has made a final decision on the matter or case. Designation of an alternate pursuant to this section shall be made on a case-by-case basis in rotation according to declining seniority among all alternates.
The name of the aforesaid Commission shall be the "Planning Commission of the Township of Falls."

The term of each member of the Planning Commission shall be for four years or until his successor is appointed and qualified, provided that the terms of the members first appointed shall be so fixed that no more than two members shall be reappointed or replaced during any future calendar year.
The Board of Supervisors may, after a public hearing, remove any member or members of the aforesaid Commission, now or hereafter appointed, for inefficiency, neglect of duty or malfeasance in office.
The Board of Supervisors is hereby empowered to appropriate, by resolution, such funds from time to time for the work of said Commission as said Board may, in its discretion, deem necessary.

The Planning Commission shall, at the request of the Board of Supervisors, have the functions stated in Section 209.1 of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, 53 P.S. § 10209.1.
