In this article, the following words have the
meanings indicated.
DIRT BIKE
A.
Any motorcycle or similar vehicle that is not
registered under the Maryland Vehicle Law.
B.
Includes:
(2)
An all-terrain vehicle of either the three-
or four-wheel variety; and
(3)
Any other motorcycle or similar vehicle that
is not eligible for registration under the Maryland Vehicle Law.
MINIBIKE
A motor vehicle that:
A.
Has a saddle for the use of the rider;
B.
Is designed to travel on not more than three
wheels in contact with the ground;
C.
Is not eligible for registration under the Maryland
Vehicle Law; and
D.
Has:
(1)
A ten-inch (254 mm) or less nominal wheel-rim
diameter;
(2)
Forty inches or less wheel base;
(3)
Twenty-five inches or less seat height, measured
at the lowest point on the top of the seat cushion without rider;
or
(4)
A propelling engine with piston displacement
of 50 cc or less.
No person may drive or ride any dirt bike or
any unregistered motorcycle or similar vehicle on any public property
that is located in Queen Anne's County including any public roads
located in Queen Anne's County nor may any person drive or ride any
dirt bike or any unregistered motorcycle or similar vehicle on private
property without the permission of the owner of such property.
No parent or guardian of a minor may knowingly permit the minor to violate any provision of §
13-11 of this article.
Any person who violates any provision of this
article is guilty of a misdemeanor and, on conviction, is subject
to a fine of not more than $500 for each offense. Any person convicted
of a second or subsequent violation of this article shall be subject
to a fine of not more than $1,000, imprisonment for not more than
90 days, or both fine and imprisonment.
