The Sustainable Brigantine Green Team (hereinafter "Green Team") be and is hereby established as an advisory committee to the Department of Public Works, and the Director of Public Works shall supervise all projects and programs of the Green Team and make appropriate reports to City Council.
The general purpose for the Green Team shall include, but not be limited to:
A. 
Managing Brigantine's participation in the Sustainable Jersey program;
B. 
Encouraging the City's staff to pursue sustainable practices where possible and implement the City Council's environmental goals;
C. 
Work with the existing groups within the City whose actions affect environmental issues so as to eliminate duplication and assure that important tasks are covered;
D. 
Provide input for the City of Brigantine website;
E. 
Provide suggestions for further research and action to the City Council;
F. 
Provide advice and suggestions to the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment and other environmental entities to assure that environmental issues are considered in their deliberations and actions;
G. 
Manage and coordinate the Brigantine Farmers' Market;
H. 
Solicit and evaluate environmental ideas and suggestions from the community; and
I. 
Promote the causes of sustainability with the City.
A. 
The Brigantine City Council shall appoint seven City residents to serve as the Green Team with at least one member being a member of the City Council. The City Council shall appoint a Chair of the Green Team. The Green Team shall elect from among its members a Vice Chair and a Secretary/Treasurer.

B. 
Green Team members shall serve a one-year term. The initial seven members of the Green Team appointed pursuant to this section shall be appointed at the Reorganization Meeting of City Government in the City of Brigantine in January 2023. Future Green Team appointments shall be made at the time of the annual Reorganization Meeting of the City Government in the City of Brigantine.

C. 
The Green Team shall recruit City volunteers to work on Green Team projects. The names of volunteers shall periodically be submitted to the City Manager.
The Green Team shall meet monthly. Additional meetings of the Green Team may be scheduled by the Chair at his/her discretion.
