The Town Board of the Town of Albion does hereby ordain and enact the Town of Albion Advisory Committee Law pursuant to authority and provisions of § 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
This chapter shall be known as the "Town of Albion Advisory Committee Law."
A. 
It is the purpose of this chapter to allow the Town Board to collect as much information as economically and expeditiously possible on any given topic or project that might be presented to assist the Town Board in its deliberation of any topic or project placed before it; any recommendation made by the Advisory Committee to the Town Board shall be nonbinding upon the Town Board.
B. 
It is the further purpose of this chapter to enable the Town of Albion Board to delegate to certain individuals who reside in the Town of Albion or individuals who possess certain expertise in a particular area the authority to investigate and report back to the Town Board of the Town of Albion on a topic or project that may be pending before the Town Board.
C. 
It is the further purpose of this chapter to establish the Advisory Committee to provide to the Town Board of the Town of Albion additional and sufficient information to assist in its deliberation and study of a topic or project the Town Board desires to further study and consider.
A. 
At the discretion and selection of the Town Board of the Town of Albion upon a majority vote, a committee of one or more may be appointed to serve on a voluntary, uncompensated term to be set by the Town Board which will not exceed 24 months.
B. 
Any vacancies that may result during the term of said committee will be filled by a majority vote of the Town Board.
The sole purpose of the Advisory Committee is to make recommendations to the Town Board of the Town of Albion on any chosen topic and/or project. Any and all recommendations are nonbinding upon the Town Board. Said Advisory Committee has no apparent or actual authority other than what is set forth in this chapter.
