Building construction and fire prevention — See Ch. 64.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained within the New York
State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, the Chief of the Fire District
in the Village of Wappingers Falls shall, in his discretion, appoint a Fire
Inspector subject to the approval of the Village Board of Trustees. Said appointment
shall be for a period of one (1) year. There shall be no requirement that
the person appointed maintain a residence within the Village of Wappingers
Falls or maintain membership in either fire company located within the Village
of Wappingers Falls. No section of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention
and Building Code other than those mandating that the Fire Inspector maintain
a residence within the Village Boundaries or maintain membership within a
village fire company shall be affected by the passage of this chapter.
