As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
COMPOSTING
The process of maximizing the natural decomposition of permitted organic matter to produce stable humus in a short time.
Composting shall be permitted in accordance with the following restrictions:
A. 
Location. Composting areas shall be located only in rear yards a minimum of five feet from any lot line and 15 feet from any residence located on adjacent property. Composting upon an easement is permitted if it meets the above setback limitations.
B. 
Size. Composting shall not exceed four feet in height and shall be less than 35 square feet in area.
C. 
Contents. Compost piles may include the following:
(1) 
Yard waste.
(2) 
Weeds.
(3) 
Grass clippings.
(4) 
Stalks/stems.
(5) 
Wood ashes.
(6) 
Coffee grounds.
(7) 
Vegetable scraps.
(8) 
Fruit peelings.
(9) 
Peanut shells.
(10) 
Bark.
(11) 
Leaves.
(12) 
Brush.
(13) 
Horse manure.
(14) 
Tea leaves.
(15) 
Citrus rinds.
(16) 
Eggshells.
(17) 
Nutshells.

Violations of the provisions of this article shall be punished as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article I.
