There shall be no more than four dogs kept or maintained in or about any dwelling unit within the Township as that term is defined in Chapter 330, Land Development, Article II, Definitions, of the Code. "Dog" shall mean any dog, bitch or spayed bitch. This restriction shall not include the temporary keeping of puppies, which have been born to a female dog, kept on or in the said unit at the time of the birth of said puppies, until the same have been weaned or for no more than 16 weeks following their birth, whichever is longer.
A. 
Any owner, tenant or other adult occupant of a dwelling unit who permits or allows a violation of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $2,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, or any combination thereof.

B. 
Each day a violation of this article occurs or continues is a separate offense.
The provisions of this article may be enforced by injunction or any other appropriate remedy in any court of competent jurisdiction.
All dogs maintained in or about a dwelling unit, as governed by this article, shall be subject to licensing in accordance with § 122-6 of this chapter.
