[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee (now Township Council) of the Township of Hillside 3-16-1976 as Ord. No. G-92-76 (Ch. VI, Sec. 6-2A, of the 1971 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any type of firearm in the Township of Hillside, with the exception of any duly authorized law enforcement officer in the pursuit of his duties or anyone using municipal facilities when proper authorization has been given by the Police Chief. The discharge of firearms otherwise will be covered by Title 2C of the New Jersey Statutes Annotated.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000; imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days; and/or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days.
