Whenever pursuant to any law, rule, regulation or ordinance it is provided that no one except a master electrician shall engage in installing, altering or repairing electrical wiring, apparatus, fittings, appliances or equipment, it shall be a violation hereof for any person not licensed as herein provided to perform any of the work thus specified.

A. 
Any individual may make application for a master electrician's license, such application to be made to the License Board hereinafter designated. Such Board is vested with authority to determine the fitness of each applicant by proper examination.
B. 
The fees for any license, renewal of license or for the examination required by the provisions of this ordinance shall be at the levels fixed from time to time by resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Rockville Centre.
All applications for licenses and for endorsements thereon shall be made to the Village Clerk in such form as he may prescribe. All licenses shall be issued by the Mayor and countersigned by the Village Clerk.
Any license may be revoked or suspended, for good cause shown, by the Board of Trustees, upon recommendation of the License Board, after specific charge has been made, a fair hearing held and a finding of the unfitness of the licensee made.
The Board of Trustees hereby appoints a Master Electricians' License Board in the person of the Chief Engineer of the village or his duly appointed deputy and which shall be vested with the following powers:
A. 
By examination and investigation of their qualifications, to determine the fitness of applicants for master electrician's license and to recommend to the Mayor the issuance of a license to those found worthy and well qualified.
B. 
For good cause shown, to recommend to the Board of Trustees the suspension or revocation of any license issued under the provisions of § 160-2A hereof.
C. 
To take proper action with respect to any matter referred to it under the terms of this ordinance or of the rules and regulations of the Electric Light Department of the Village of Rockville Centre.
Applicants for licenses under § 160-2A shall file their applications with the Village Clerk, who shall refer them to the License Board for determination. The Board shall, with reasonable expedition, conduct its examinations and investigations and report to the Mayor its recommendations based upon candidates' qualifications and fitness. The Board may act on its own initiative or upon complaint when charges reflecting upon the worthiness of a licensee are made.
