There shall be an Inland Wetlands Commission established in accordance with An Act Concerning Inland Wetlands and Watercourses[1] (Public Act 155, 1972 Session of the General Assembly, State of Connecticut, as amended by Public Act 571, 1973 Session).

Said Commission shall have all the powers and responsibilities authorized under said Public Act 155, as heretofore or hereafter amended.

A. 
The Commission shall be composed of five members appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The provisions of Section 9-167a of the Connecticut General Statutes shall be applicable to said appointment.
B. 
There shall be three alternate members of the Commission appointed by the Board of Selectmen. The provisions of Section 9-167a of the Connecticut General Statutes shall be applicable to said appointment. The first person named shall serve for a period commencing on the date of appointment and running until March 31, 1976; the second person named shall serve for a period commencing on the date of appointment and running until March 31, 1977; the third person named shall serve for a period commencing on the date of appointment and running until March 31, 1978. All subsequent appointments shall be for terms of two years commencing April 1 in the year of appointment.
Any vacancy in the membership of the Commission which may occur through death, resignation or otherwise may be filled for the unexpired term of such member by the Board of Selectmen. In the event that a Commission member misses four consecutive meetings, the Board of Selectmen may remove the member and fill the vacancy thus created.
