In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-197, the following off-street municipal parking yards and Board of Education property as shown in Schedule XXIII (§ 168-78) attached to and made part of this chapter are designated as handicapped parking areas. Such spaces are for use by persons who have been issued special identification cards, plates or placards by the Division of Motor Vehicles or a temporary placard issued by the Chief of Police in accordance with N.J.S.A. 39:4-205 and 39:4-206. No other person shall be permitted to park a vehicle in these spaces.

In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:4-197, the following on-street locations as shown in Schedule XXIV (§ 168-79) attached to and made part of this chapter are designed as handicapped parking spaces. Such spaces are for use by persons who have been issued special identification cards or plates or placards by the Division of Motor Vehicles or a temporary placard issued by the Chief of Police. No other person shall be permitted to park in these spaces.
In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:48-2.46, the following off-street parking yards as shown in Schedule XXV (§ 168-80) attached to and made a part of this chapter are designated as handicapped parking areas. Such spaces are for use by persons who have been issued special identification cards, plates or placards by the Division of Motor Vehicles or a temporary placard issued by the Chief of Police in accordance with N.J.S.A. 39:4-205 and 39:4-206. No other person shall be permitted to park a vehicle in these spaces.
In accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 39:5A-1, the following off-street parking yards as shown in Schedule XXVI (§ 168-81) attached to and made part of this chapter are designated as handicapped parking areas. Such spaces are for use by persons who have been issued special identification cards, plates or placards by the Division of Motor Vehicles or a temporary placard issued by the Chief of Police in accordance with N.J.S.A. 39:4-205 and 39:4-206. No other person shall be permitted to park a vehicle in these areas.

A. 
The owners of the premises referred to in §§ 168-32 and 168-33 shall provide and install signs and pavement markings for each parking space reserved for use by handicapped persons, which signing and markings shall be in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, N.J.S.A. 39:4-198 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The cost of procurement and installation of the signs and pavement markings shall be the responsibility of the owner of said property. The owner shall, subsequent to initial procurement and installation, maintain such signs and pavement markings in good condition at no cost or expense to the Township. The owner shall be responsible for the repair and restoration or replacement of the same.
B. 
The Township and the Board of Education, respectively, shall provide and install signs for the premises referred to in § 168-30 and signs and pavement markings for each parking space reserved for use by handicapped persons, which signing and markings shall be in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Devices, N.J.S.A. 39:4-198 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The cost of procurement and installation of the signs and pavement markings shall be the responsibility of the Township and the Board of Education, respectively. The Board of Education shall, subsequent to initial procurement and installation, maintain such signs and pavement markings in good condition at no cost or expense to the Township. The Township and the Board of Education, respectively, shall be responsible for the repair and restoration or replacement of the same. All signs and pavement markings shall be in accordance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
C. 
At each designated handicapped parking space there shall be installed a handicapped sign, which may be wall or post mounted or in the ground. View of the sign shall not be obstructed when a vehicle is parking in the space. Van accessible parking spaces shall have an additional sign mounted below the handicapped sign, stating "van accessible."

Penalties for violation of this article shall be as provided in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, Penalty, § 1-3.
