The City Council, by a majority of its members,
shall elect a City Sergeant at its first regular meeting in February
after its organization, or as soon as may be thereafter, to serve
until his or her successor shall be elected as aforesaid by the succeeding
City Council.
The City Sergeant shall have all the powers
given and perform all the duties required by this Code and other ordinances
of the City and the statutes of the state.
