[Adopted 7-6-1964, amended in entirety 8-3-1964 (Ch. 19, Art. II, of the 1977 Code)]
Pursuant to Rule 7:4-4 of the Rules Governing the Courts of the State of New Jersey, 1976 Edition and amendments and additions thereto, there is hereby created in the Borough of South River the position of Municipal Court Prosecutor; said position shall be filled and held by an attorney at law of the State of New Jersey licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Upon request of the Judge of the Municipal Court or of the Mayor and Council, the Municipal Court Prosecutor shall appear in the Municipal Court and conduct prosecution of any action on behalf of the Borough of South River.
The Municipal Court Prosecutor shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council, and he shall serve from the date of his appointment until the expiration of the calendar year in which he is appointed or until such time as his successor has been appointed and duly qualifies.

The Municipal Court Prosecutor shall receive such compensation for his services as may be determined from time to time and established in the Salary Ordinance of the Borough of South River.[1]
