All full-time employees shall receive a severance pay of two weeks upon their employment's being terminated by the governing body.
Pursuant to the New Jersey Health Benefits Program Act (N.J.S.A. 54:14-17.25 et seq.), the Borough of South River shall provide full family coverage for each full-time employee of the Borough of South River in the New Jersey Health Insurance Plan. Such coverage shall include Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Rider J and major medical. The governing body may offer such coverage to designated part-time employees by resolution duly adopted. Eligibility for enrollment shall be after completion of two calendar months of continued employment or at the annual enrollment period of each year.
The Borough of South River shall provide group life insurance coverage for each full-time employee of the Borough of South River in a reputable life insurance company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey, with coverage as deemed necessary by the Borough Council.
The Borough of South River shall provide full family coverage for each full-time employee of the Borough of South River in a prescription drug expense plan. Said plan shall be placed with a reputable insurance company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Upon retirement of any full-time Borough employee and/or official and attaining age 55 with at least 25 years of service, said employee or official shall be entitled to continue his/her prescription benefits at the employee's or official's sole cost and expense, and such coverage shall continue until Medicare eligibility commences, so long as said retired employee and/or official shall not receive such a benefit from any employment in which said employee and/or official may engage subsequent to retirement, if no other family member has such coverage or unless said employee and/or official returns to another paid municipal position.
The Borough shall provide a dental insurance plan for each full-time employee and official. The Borough shall pay the full cost of the employee coverage, except that for each police officer and managerial employee the Borough shall contribute a maximum of $300 toward the cost of a full family coverage plan.
