An employee who is injured in the performance of his duties shall immediately report the accident to his supervisor, who shall complete a form provided for such reports. The completed accident report form shall then be submitted to the Personnel Director.
A. 
Employees shall not accept outside employment or engage in outside business activities without the prior approval of the governing body. Applications for permission to accept outside employment shall be made in writing to the governing body.
B. 
No application for permission to accept outside employment or engage in outside business shall be approved if in the governing body's judgment there is any reasonable probability that such outside employment will interfere with the employee's performance or compromise an employee's position with the Borough through a conflict of interest.
A. 
The department head may, from time to time, establish, amend and supplement rules and regulations for governing the internal operations of his department and the conduct of its personnel. Such departmental rules and regulations shall not be inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of any statute of this state, this chapter or other Borough ordinances or resolutions.
B. 
All departmental rules and regulations require the approval of the governing body before they become effective.
A. 
Accurate and complete time and attendance report records for all personnel will be maintained by each department head or such person in charge of any unit, office or activity in the Borough of South River. Such time and attendance report will be certified to by the person in charge of such unit and delivered to the Personnel Director on forms so provided on the last day of each pay period.
B. 
The Personnel Director shall, after reviewing each department's time and attendance report record, forward the same to the Payroll Clerk for computation of payroll checks.
C. 
All Borough employees shall be at their assigned posts ready for work, unless on vacation, absent or on leave of absence. Being on time is of the utmost importance; consequently any lateness and the reason for it will be so noted on the time and attendance report record.
D. 
The lunch period shall be specified by each department head and normally shall not exceed one hours' duration.
E. 
The regular closing hour for all Borough offices and activities (other than those requiring hours of duty ending at some other hour) is 4:30 weekdays.
F. 
Any change in the approved Borough office hours must be authorized in advance by the governing body.
The Administration shall maintain adequate personnel records for each employee of the Borough. Such records shall include dates of appointments and promotions, job titles, salaries, commendations, disciplinary actions, leave of any type taken or accumulated and the like. The personnel records of each employee shall be made available to him for his inspection upon request. Personnel files shall be classified as confidential records and available for inspection only by authorized personnel.
