A.Â
No minor shall enter any premises licensed for the
sale of alcoholic beverages unless accompanied by his or her parent
or guardian, except as provided for herein. Said limitation shall
not apply to minors who are guests at a bona fide hotel, motel or
restaurant or who are required to enter a licensed premises in the
course of their business or occupation.
B.Â
Minors shall also be permitted to enter premises licensed
for the sale of alcoholic beverages consumption, provided that the
persons or entities to which the license is issued have received prior
approval by formal resolution adopted by the Borough Council and complied
with the terms herein.
As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
The use of facilities, businesses or establishments commonly
licensed for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages upon
premises which shall be utilized by individuals for entertainment,
amusement, socializing and/or dancing.
The use of a facility as set forth above shall
be limited to individuals between the ages of 15 years old and 20
years old, with proof of age being a requirement for admittance into
the same.
The time of operation for a teen night by a
facility or business as defined herein shall be limited within the
Borough of South River as follows:
A.Â
At all times during a teen night activity, there shall
be no alcoholic beverages within the public area utilized by the parties.
B.Â
Any and all alcoholic beverages maintained on said
premises during a teen night activity shall be stored in a separate
area, location or room, which shall be locked and not accessible by
the parties at the teen night activity. Said alcoholic beverages shall
be secured in such a manner so as to assure that the same shall not
be either visible or accessible to the public.
C.Â
The dates and times of conducting teen night activities
by a business, establishment or facility within the Borough of South
River shall be provided to the South River Police Department and Borough
Clerk, in writing, at least seven days prior to the same and only
after receiving approval for the same by resolution from the Borough
Council, which resolution shall contain such terms and conditions
that are deemed appropriate by the Borough Council.
D.Â
There shall be no sale of alcoholic beverages for
consumption on or off premises during the hours of said teen night
activity as well as for one hour prior to the opening of said business,
facility or establishment for use as a teen night as well as for one
hour after said teen night activity has ended.
E.Â
Except as set forth herein, all existing local, county,
state and federal rules and regulations, including but not limited
to the Alcohol Beverage Commission, shall remain in full force and
effect.
All licenses for a teen night event shall require a fee to be paid as provided in Chapter 155, Fees.
