GENERAL REFERENCES
Defense and indemnification — See Ch. 15.
Officers and employees — See Ch. 47.
The office of City Historian is hereby created.
Such office is to assume the following responsibilities:
A. 
To develop and administer for the City a program of cataloging, preserving and making use of all available historical materials and records relating to the City.
B. 
To encourage and assist the Fenton Historical Society in its historical work for the benefit of the community, and to urge other groups to seek out their own historical materials.
C. 
To encourage observances of past historical events, to encourage all local groups in their anniversary observances and to increase awareness in the City of its history through various types of public presentations.
D. 
To cooperate with educational, civic and cultural institutions in new methods of securing, recording and presenting the history of the community.
E. 
To prepare an annual report, with copies to the County and State Historians.
