It is the policy of the Village that all persons shall have an equal opportunity for housing, as provided by statute, and the Village recognizes its responsibilities under Wis. Stat. § 106.50, as amended, and endorses the concepts of fair and open housing for all persons and prohibition of discrimination therein.
The Village Board of the Village of Waterford hereby adopts Wis. Stat. § 106.50, as amended, and all subsequent amendments thereto.
A. 
The officials and employees of the Village of Waterford shall assist in the orderly prevention and removal of all discrimination in housing within the Village by implementing the authority and enforcement procedures set forth in Wis. Stat. § 106.50, as amended.
B. 
The Village Clerk shall maintain forms for complaints to be filed under Wis. Stat. § 106.50, as amended, and shall assist any person alleging a violation thereof in the Village of Waterford to file a complaint thereunder with the Wisconsin Department of Work Force Development, Equal Rights Division, for enforcement of Wis. Stat. § 106.50, as amended.
A. 
Any person who shall violate any provision of Wis. Stat. § 106.50 shall be subject to a penalty imposed by the state as provided in Wis. Stat. § 106.50.
B. 
Any employee or official of the Village who shall violate the provisions of § 126-3 shall be subject to a penalty as provided in Chapter 1, Article II, of this Code, unless that person is in violation of Wis. Stat. § 106.50, in which case § 126-4A shall apply.
