It is the purpose of this article to promote the health, safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the Village of Menands by the regulation of the parking and abandonment of vehicles on certain Village streets.

A. 
It shall be unlawful and a violation of this article for an owner or operator of any vehicle to park or permit his vehicle to be parked or to abandon his vehicle as hereinafter so prohibited on any of the following streets in the Village of Menands.
B. 
Such parking or abandonment of vehicles is hereby prohibited:
(1) 
At any time on Kingston Street within 50 feet of the north curbline of Amsterdam Avenue.
(2) 
At any time on Tillinghast Avenue, Menand Road or Glenwood Road within 50 feet of the west curbline of Broadway.
(3) 
From 12:00 noon of the day set forth below until 12:00 noon of the following day, as follows:
(a) 
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, on the north sides of Glenwood Road and Tillinghast Avenue westerly from a point 50 feet from the west curbline of Broadway in each instance; on the north side of Menand Road from the railroad tracks easterly to a point 50 feet west of the west curbline of Broadway; and on the east sides of Highland Street and Hutton Street.
(b) 
On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, on the south sides of Glenwood Road and Tillinghast Avenue westerly from a point 50 feet from the west curbline of Broadway in each instance; on the south side of Menand Road from the railroad tracks easterly to a point 50 feet west of the west curbline of Broadway; and on the west sides of Highland Street and Hutton Street.

Any person violating any provision of § 160-58 of this article shall be guilty of an offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of $50 or by imprisonment for not more than 10 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, for the first offense, and $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both, for any offense thereafter. Each incidence of any violation of a provision herein shall constitute a subsequent offense.
Any vehicle parked, abandoned or left unattended in violation of § 160-58 of this article may be removed and stored at the expense of the owner by or at the direction of a patrolman, pursuant to the provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.[1]
