Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-135, there is hereby created
the office of the Deputy Municipal Clerk.
During the absence or disability of the Municipal Clerk, the Deputy
Municipal Clerk shall have all the powers of the Municipal Clerk and shall
perform the functions and duties of such office.
The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be appointed by resolution of the Township
Committee to serve until December 31 of the year of appointment and thereafter
until a successor is duly appointed.
The compensation of the Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be set by the Salary
Ordinance[1] in each year, except that the salary of the first appointee shall
be at the annual rate of $8,323, prorated and payable semimonthly.
