There is hereby established the position of Veterinarian.
The Veterinarian shall be appointed by the City Manager for the term
prescribed by law.
The Veterinarian shall:
A.
Quarantine all dogs or other animals, at the request
or direction of the Health Officer or the City Manager, and make the necessary
examination in order to release such animals from quarantine.
B.
Examine all dairies and pasteurizing plants in the City
and all other dairies and pasteurizing plants in other municipalities which
may be the source of milk supplied and delivered within the limits of the
City.
C.
Examine and inspect the dairies and pasteurizing plants designated in Subsection B according to the rules and regulations of the City Health Department, the State Board of Health and in compliance with the recommendations of the United States Public Health Service.
D.
Attend all meetings of the Health Department and the
Board of Health; advise the Health Officer on matters referred to him by the
Health Department, the City Manager or the State Board of Health.
E.
Aid in establishing the diagnosis of contagious diseases
of animals which are transmitted to man.
F.
Render such other service and advice as may be required
of him by the Health Officer or the City Manager.
