A.
All applicants for employment with the City of Clifton
shall be required to be residents of either Essex County or Passaic County
at the time of application and appointment.
From and after the date this chapter is adopted, all officers and employees
of the City of Clifton shall be required, as a condition of continued employment,
to reside within a fifteen-mile radius of Clifton City Hall.
All officers and employees hired after the adoption of this chapter
shall, as a condition of employment, be required to move within such fifteen-mile
radius within one year from their date of appointment.
This chapter shall not apply to:
A.
Those officers and employees who are excluded, excepted
or exempted by law.
B.
Those officers and employees currently in the employment
of the City of Clifton who, at the time of the adoption of this chapter, reside
beyond a fifteen-mile radius of Clifton City Hall.
C.
For Clifton Library employees, the residency requirements
shall be in accordance with the appropriate New Jersey statutes.
Upon adoption, a certified copy of this chapter shall be transmitted
by the City Clerk to the Department of Personnel.
