GENERAL REFERENCES
Streets and sidewalks — See Ch. 204.
Subdivision of land and site plan review — See Ch. 208.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
OWNER
Any person, copartnership, association, corporation or joint-stock company, or the plurals thereof.
STREET
Any street, avenue, highway, boulevard, parkway or square.
A. 
Each lot of land in the Borough fronting upon any street shall be assigned a certain number by the Borough Engineer, which shall be indicated upon a map or maps on file in the office of the Engineer.
B. 
Each lot, for the purpose of this chapter, shall conform to the front or street dimensions indicated upon the map.
C. 
In general, the following rules shall apply:
(1) 
The numbers on all streets substantially at right angles to the Boulevard shall be numbered starting from the point nearest to the Boulevard, with odd numbers on the east side and even numbers on the west side.
(2) 
The numbers on all streets substantially parallel with the Boulevard shall be numbered starting from the east end of the street, the odd numbers on the north side and the even numbers on the south side.
D. 
The numbers designated on the map shall be conclusive.
The number assigned to each building located on a lot, as described in § 164-2, shall have a minimum height of four inches with a maximum height of eight inches and shall be placed in a conspicuous location with the bottom of the numbers at least 24 inches above the grade where located so as to be clearly visible from the street.
Final approval regarding any permit issued after the passage of this chapter shall be withheld by the Construction Official until permanent and proper numbers have been affixed in conformity with this chapter.
The Construction Code Official and Code Enforcement Official shall be the enforcing officials and shall give notice of violations.
If the owner of any lot upon which a building is located shall fail or refuse to display or cause to be displayed the number assigned thereto in conformity with the provisions of this chapter, after 10 days' notice so to do, he shall be liable, upon conviction, to a penalty not to exceed $25 for each offense, and each week after the giving of notice shall constitute a separate offense.
