There shall be created the position of Clerk Administrator to assist the Township Committee, which Clerk Administrator shall function as a liaison between the governing body and the various departments, bodies, agencies and other officials of the Township of Readington under the supervision and control of the Township Committee, and who shall fulfill such other duties as shall be specifically assigned by said Township Committee from time to time.
The Clerk Administrator shall serve at the pleasure of the Township Committee.
The Clerk Administrator shall be appointed on the basis of executive and administrative abilities and qualifications, with special regard to training and experience in governmental affairs.
The duties of the Clerk Administrator shall be such that they shall not infringe upon the duties, rights and powers of other township officers designated by statute or by ordinance. The Clerk Administrator shall be responsible to the Township Committee for the proper and efficient administration of township affairs. The office of Clerk Administrator shall be held by the same person who holds the title of Township Clerk.
The Clerk Administrator shall receive compensation as is fixed from time to time by ordinance by the Township Committee.[1]
